Who we are and how to contact us
Perigee Press is responsible for the personal information used to operate this book website and respond to enquiries. For questions about this notice or to exercise your privacy rights, contact roymagara@hotmail.co.uk.
Information you send us
The contact form collects your name, email address, subject and message, together with your acknowledgement of this notice. We use these details to reply, deal with your enquiry or submitted review, and keep an appropriate record of our correspondence. Messages are delivered through the website’s email system and may be held in the recipient’s mailbox and service backups. Please do not include sensitive information or other people’s private details unnecessarily.
Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in communicating with readers and managing enquiries, balanced against your privacy rights. Supplying information is voluntary; without an email address we may be unable to reply. The checkbox acknowledges this notice and does not subscribe you to marketing. We do not add you to a mailing list simply because you contact us. If we would like to publish an attributed review that you send us, we will seek your permission first; you can withdraw that permission by contacting us.
Running and protecting the website
WordPress, our hosting, maintenance, security and email services process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website. This can include IP addresses, request times, pages requested, device and browser information, and security events. Our legitimate interests are operating a reliable site, preventing abuse and investigating faults. Necessary cookies may support administration, security and remembering privacy choices. Signing into WordPress may set administrative login cookies.
Service providers and disclosure
Access to enquiry information is limited to Perigee Press, people assisting with correspondence, and the hosting, email and technical suppliers who need it to provide their services. We may disclose information where required by law or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not sell contact-form messages.
Retailers, social links and artwork
Book purchases take place on independent retailer websites. We do not collect payment details or process orders through this contact page. Following a retailer or social link takes you to a separate service with its own privacy notice. The Instagram phone illustration is an image, not a live Instagram feed.
International processing
Some service providers may process information outside the UK. Restricted transfers require an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or appropriate safeguards, such as approved contractual terms and any necessary additional measures. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards applicable to your enquiry, or how to obtain a copy.
How long we keep information
We keep correspondence while dealing with the enquiry and for follow-up that can reasonably be expected. We then review whether it is still needed, taking account of outstanding commitments, the subject of the enquiry, and any genuine legal or dispute-related need, and delete it when no longer required. Security records are kept for the time needed to investigate faults or abuse. Backups expire through the providers’ normal cycles. Contact us for details of the technical providers and retention arrangements applicable to your information.
Your rights
You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Contact roymagara@hotmail.co.uk to raise an objection.
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access or correct your information, have it erased, restrict its use, or receive a portable copy where that right applies. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. We may need to confirm your identity and normally respond within one month, subject to any lawful extension. This contact website does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.
You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve a concern.
Changes to this notice
We update this notice when the website or our handling of personal information changes. The date above identifies the current version.
